From signup to answered calls
in about a day

Here's exactly what happens when you join Torklio — and exactly how to point your existing number at your new receptionist. No new number on the truck, no porting, no lock-in.

How signing up works

1

Pick your plan

Choose Starter, Pro, or Growth on the pricing page — or just tell Tori (the chat bubble in the corner) about your business and she'll recommend one and sign you up right in the chat.

2

We build your receptionist with you

A 30-minute setup call: we load your services, hours, FAQs, and policies; you pick a voice from 20+ options and hear it live; and we import your existing customer list from any spreadsheet or CRM export — so your receptionist recognizes your customers from day one.

3

Try it on a test number first

We spin up a local number in your area code where your receptionist answers, just for testing. Call it, ask it hard questions, hear how it handles your customers. Your real number and your customers aren’t touched until you say so.

4

Forward your existing number

One dial code on your phone (details below). Your customers keep calling the number they've always known — your receptionist just starts answering it.

5

Watch the dashboard fill up

Every call and chat becomes a conversation record, a message slip, and — when it's a potential job — a lead on your pipeline, graded by your own criteria.

Forwarding your number: two ways to do it

Most popular

Safety net — forward missed calls only

Your phone rings first, exactly like today. If you don't pick up — on a ladder, with a customer, after hours — the call forwards to your receptionist instead of voicemail. Zero behavior change; you just stop missing calls.

Honest trade-off: callers wait through your rings before the AI answers. You can shorten the ring time (see codes below).

Full takeover — every call answered instantly

Your phone never rings; the receptionist answers everything on the first ring, 24/7, and transfers the calls that truly need you. For owners who are done answering the phone.

Honest trade-off: you talk to fewer callers directly — by design.

The dial codes, by carrier

Dial these from the phone you're forwarding. Replace YOUR-TORKLIO-NUMBER with the 10-digit number we give you (with a leading 1 where shown). We do this step together on your setup call.

CarrierMissed calls onlyEvery callTurn off
Verizon *71 + number *72 + number *73
AT&T **004*1 + number + # **21*1 + number + # ##004# / ##21#
T-Mobile **004*1 + number + # **21*1 + number + # ##004# / ##21#
Google Voice Settings → Calls → link your Torklio number, then set incoming calls to ring it (we'll walk you through the verification) Un-link anytime
Office / VoIP systems
RingCentral, Ooma, landlines…
One forwarding rule in your phone admin, or *72 from the handset on most landlines Remove the rule
Pro tip — shorten the wait on "missed calls only": AT&T and T-Mobile let you set how long your phone rings before forwarding: **61*1 + number + *11*10# forwards after ~10 seconds (about 2–3 rings) instead of the default ~20.
One rule that matters: forward your business line, and take transfers on a different phone (usually your personal cell). If the AI transfers a caller to the same number that forwards back to it, the call goes in a circle — funny once, annoying twice.
Completely reversible. Turning forwarding off is one dial code, and your phone works exactly like it did before. You keep your number forever — Torklio never owns it. That's on purpose: we'd rather earn your renewal than trap you in one.
